      All I'm saying, bi-yotch, is that you NEVER explained that the needle position controlled the midrange A/F. The way you explained it in your original post, as I read it, is that it either shuts fuel off or lets fuel in. You never explained that at cruising speed (50-60mph) across the lake, that you can burn one down with a improper needle position, just as well as ripping across WOT. Don't be a dickhead. Use your expert knowledge to teach, not as a tool to call everyone else stupid.

        Nope, but i have to get my merc back together for the waseca drags on saturday, and then load em on the trailer that night, plus, i gotta get parts for my zrt as that needs to be running again. So i got a full plate right now man.

          Should be 1 - 2 turns at most. Like the genius cockworker said, anymore than that, the pilot curcuit needs a looking over. But on my flatsides I have both air and fuel screws so

            I havent read all the previous posts . Im sure its entertaining though . It all depends on how jodys sled is running now with those reed cages he put in it. It was lean last year, after i cleaned the carbs, he might need a step richer pilots and the fuel screws turned in some after that.

              runs like poop up top.. Im going to put the 490 jets in and go to 1.5 turns out on the fuel knob.

                Adjust the fuel screw to 1.5 out. If it will only run with it turned out more than that, increase pilot jet size, and start over at 1.5. Your main jet as nothing to do with how it will idle.

                      yeah wtf, check your jetting by looking at your pistons on a cold day. after a long wot run and after a long steady cruise. if it's good on a cold day, close the hood and forget about it. egt's are for suckers. chances are you won't use the extra 2hp you'll gain from running it on the edge, and you can definitely still burn a sled down with egt's on it. put your effort into being a better rider, and clutching.
