Clutching is more important than dropping a jet size or throwing in some reeds. You'll gain nothing if it can't put it to the ground.

I'm still running the same jets Arctic cat put in the day they made it. I never changed a thing on my motor. It's all clutching on mine. The whole tweaking every little last bit and running it on the edge thing baffles me. People will spend $$$ on jetting, reeds, pipes, blah blah blah and now EGT gauges, and think they're going to break record speeds, when actually they may only gain 2mph WTH Just run the damn thing and enjoy it. I'd rather pull the rope and ride than try and figure out what jets I'll need in the morning and than swap them in the afternoon because it's warmer out, and then switch back at night because now it cooled off again. DUMB. If you want to go faster, buy a bigger sled for christ sakes.

I think you are missing the reason why I added the reeds... The stock boots were torn so I had too.. Now its just dialing it in...

If I could spend the same amount of money to upgrade/replace what was broke and make a few ponys then you would be a fool not to. I dont like working on the damn thing, but once I get the jets/carbs figured out now she will run like a champ. The EGT thing would be a time saver in the long run if you could simple go out and read whats going on in the motor, plus it could save your motor from melt down if something did happen.

I know your boots were torn. BUT, you won't gain what you "think" you will with your fancy reeds. I've heard people say they actually went slower after they put in aftermarket reeds and jetting because they changed nothing else to work with the new reeds

But you will gain crisper throttle response.. Like I said, I had torn boots, so I fixed the problem.

You know this how? Is it because it's what the manufacturer said. Crisper throttle responds can come in to play with just changing the needle position or needle size.

I'm not trying to piss you off. just relax a bit before you start throwing more money at it.

There is A LOT of good advice out there. But there are a lot of people that are more than happy to spend your money

yea, it was just other people like me that added whatever and chose to post up results.. the boyesens had a hard casing so I wont have to worry about cracked boots anymore which could cause a melt down..
