Agreed. Says two of the few that have been there, done that.If you are able, save them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go. Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own. And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.

He just serves because of the sense of obligation he has to his country. One of the things I like about HerrKooled is the fact that he has served his country and does not feel the need to thump his chest every chance he gets. He knows what he did, and that is all that matters

Sometimes people that haven't been anywhere, or done anything, like to talk about said places and things. You haven't a clue what it is like to be in the shoes of one of us that has served in a war and then has to come home and listen to people flap their yaps about it as if they might know or actually care about us. Some of us choose to talk about what we saw, some don't. Some of us attempt to provide information only we who have been there possibly can, and some don't think anybody really gives a shit anyways, so fuck it. While I have been very vocal at times (well, all the time) about things, I find myself caring less and less what others think that haven't even put a uniform on, much less deployed to combat. I mean really..... Fuck em all. Think what you want, feel profound for doing so even. It doesn't matter one fucking bit anyways. Guys and girls like me will still do what we do because we love doing it, some of us never to see home again, and this country will be saved from enduring hardships and continue to waste away into politically correct socialistic oblivian... What a fucking waste...Originally posted by Scotty07 View PostSo true.

With the exception of very few threads, about the only time you come out of your love me room is to post up about your service. You served (and many have thanked you for it including myself), we get it, give it a rest.Originally posted by Matt87GTA View PostSometimes people that haven't been anywhere, or done anything, like to talk about said places and things. Actually Matt would be one of the last people I would think of as self absorbed. When he brings up his service, or his combat experience, it's usually to contrast what is reported in the media. Others, like Goldenplump, seem to bring it up just to get respect. If you join the military, or any authoritative force, just to get respect or power instead of out of love for your country, or a perceived obligation to your neighbors...then you will get none from me. But like I said...from what I can tell, Matt is someone who serves out of love for his country, and nothing more.Originally posted by Scotty07 View PostWith the exception of very few threads, about the only time you come out of your love me room is to post up about your service. From the countless diatribes I have read of his I would have to disagree. But, that is just my opinion.Originally posted by Stallion View PostActually Matt would be one of the last people I would think of as self absorbed.
