How about being more frustrated with the money we spend on welfare, and taking care of people that don't want to take care of themselves? The war bill in a mere drop in the bucket compared to that bill. We spend 140 Billion / MONTH paying out shit for welfare, and people that should be doing shit, we only are spending 145 Billion / YEAR on the war. Although I think there is better places the war money could be spent it isn't shit compared to welfare.Originally posted by punch View Posthttp://money.cnn.com/2008/04/24/pf/t...ney_topstories
I still think this whole thing is a sham. Instead of giving me a $600 advance on next years taxes, how about government just keep the money and LOWER TAXES.
Oh wait, that can't happen because we have a money-pit of a war to fund.
Anyone else get frustrated with this BS?"Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves."

Can we break it down to at what rate each income bracket will be paying it back to which income bracket?Originally posted by SFC View PostNote entirely true. Bush/congress/whoever *giving away* money that the government doesn't have to give will have to be repaid sooner or later. I'm guessing that *FREE* $600 will be repaid at about $1200 after interest and a further decline in the value of the dollar.
But ya, other than that, totally free.

The Iraqis can take care of themselves, they're adults, we need that money to take care of our own people! Some people say the economy is so bad they've even considered getting a job!Originally posted by Nifty View PostHow about being more frustrated with the money we spend on welfare, and taking care of people that don't want to take care of themselves? Social security, and Medicaid aren't considered a welfare of some sort? I would think so.Originally posted by SFC View PostSure.
