They sell used gear there. According to their website, there one D70 at the Golden Valley location. I won't buy one sight unseen. I have handled the D80, and I love it, but I need to see if I can live with the viewfinder on a D70, since it is not as good as the D80.

When using a lens with such a narrow depth of field as an f1.8, I imagine manual focusing would come in handy.

You will probably pay more at NCE than KEH, but it's your call. The viewfinder is fine on the D70. Yes, it's a tiny bit smaller, but the only people that really have an issue are the reviewers in magazines and guys like Ken Rockwell.

Manual focus is fine, as long as it is not your only option. With an older lens on a D40, it is your only option.
