I hang around 200 pounds for bench press. I currently use the mindset, "it's not how much you can lift, but how you lift it." This mindset has workout great for me. I also say strech, flex to myself while I lift. This ensures a good full range movement and quality form in my mind.
I moved to Minnesota weighing 190 pounds. I now weigh 210. I'm putting on about 10 pounds a year of muscle/fat. I'll finish my last class on August 8th of this year. Then it's going to be on in the gym!
I feel it might be nessessary to say that I use great form! I am no slacker! I have no weaknesses on the bench except a slight on the midrange. I do rest/ pause and NEVER bounce or cheat to get the weight up. I am strong! I dont get into "lift offs" because I feel they are a crutch and if someone needs one than they have no business being under the weight they want to move in the first place! Also lift offs can injure get you injured very easily and have given exercises like press behind the neck a bad name
My workouts are of my own design. First and foremost, I work mostly towards being as strong as I possibly can! - Then I do the isolation excercises, peak contraction, pre-exhaust , etc. Strength then bodybuilding is my motto.

How much do you weigh? From what I usually see, there are plenty of guys over 3 plates, but the guys benching over 4 plates are usually pretty big. I was around 200 when I lifted the most.
Im around 230 at 6.2. Im actually "fat" for this time of year. I plan to be stronger and lighter. Two years ago I was maxing 405 for ten reps on the incline and threw up 455 ( I had more in me) at a bodyweight of 220. Size is a part of things but not the whole story. There are alot of "empty houses". Guys that do the beach boy exercises. Yeah, they beat those muscles into growth - no doubt - but they arent very strong for thier size IMO. Theres a clown at my gym that wieghs around 260 at 5.9 and he struts around like hes Goldberg but can only bench 275 three times.
