I'm going to step on some toes here, but I trust that people are big enough to accept it.

Matt, for you to look a free gift horse in the mouth and bitch because it isn't a Kentucky Derby winner is not only impolite, but wrong. For you to come on here and lambaste RNV and (I assume) budderigs, because the free block that was offered to you wasn't a brand new $10,000 rotating assembly is just uncalled for. It's a free fucking block, it's going to have some wear. Whether or not the mileage is correct, has no meaning on what was given to you. This is akin to someone complaining to LTD that the $500 car for sale has mismatched tires, or a cracked windshield. If you don't want it, the polite thing to say would be "No thanks, I changed my mind, I'll rebuild mine", not to come on here spouting off how much (unmeasured by you) play the bearings have in them. Personally, I feel as though you owe an apology.

i may not agree with rednecksisterfucker's ways and ideas but thats kinda low, if he was indeed offering you a free shortblock- whether it was a fresh rebuild or a worn out pos.

just throwing my .02 out there.

fern, this has been pointed out already.

Man. a whole lotta growing up needs to be done here.

While Matt certainly should have kept this private, it appears somebody feels they have a reputation to protect by posting numerous shitty pictures in the photostream.

For fucks sake, pull down your skirt and act like an adult for once.

No drama, the photostream pics are just there to point out that the returned free short block that was assumed junk is in fact a perfectly good, 60-100k rebuilt motor upon closer inspection. Its just dirty.

                    OK HERE GOES.
i think i know a little about motors, being ase master certified and certified in engine machining and such since thats what i do for a living.

i have assembled quite a few engines and such.

that engine was worn the fuck out. it may have ran but thats it. its a good rebuildable engine. the fact that it has been rebuilt? it is still std bore/std bearings to my knowledge.

i took some of that thing apart and it needs to be gone thru. period. if you want to throw it in something good luck because i wouldnt exspect it to last very long at all.
there are people that do things the right way and people that do shit half-ass. my self i do it the right way.
the fact of the o.p is that people wanted him to just throw a 250k engine in and run it. could of but where would that get someone?
it is not about whether it was free or not.

this thread should be locked and disposed. it is getting everyone no where.

I don't doubt your experience, ability or judgment Steve, but this motor is just fine. Its a perfect short block for the next project.

Its not a big deal, I hold no hard feelings and I had already accepted Matts decision before this thread was started.

I also agree on the :locked:
