    99 Tahoe No Spark

Used the truck for towing a few trucks and trailers, parked it and now it won't start. Fuel pump prims, truck turns over perfectly, won't start. Help onto a plug wire and turned it over, nothing - some quick searching pointed in a few possible directions.. truck had fuel pump replaced 3 months ago. Some people talk about some ignition module in the column? No idea here -

Anyone ever run into this? Of course the truck still has my trailer on it, so moving it will be interesting.

Crank trigger or cam position sensor or coil but I would check the crank trigger sensor

You have to ask this question. I've seen so many people not even think to check....

Do you have spark at the coil? Ive been replacing a lot of distributor caps lately for no starts.

Whoa i spaced this one even the title lol. I saw something about fuel pump and figured he didn't have fuel. I +1 checking the pick up in the dist.

How's the battery? I had a similar problem with a neighbors 99 work truck. If the battery is pretty old and the voltage drops suddenly when you hit the key to crank, the antitheft setup needs a minimum constant 9 volts. if it dips below that reading it won't start. Put in a new battery, problem solved.

                      DITTO.
there are 2 vents in the dist housing that like to get plugged up and with the moisture out there inside the cap gets wet.
they like to burn the rotor also.

It's got fuel, gauge reads 1/4 and I tossed a gallon in it for fun. I'll check the dist cap later this week - hate that it hugs the firewall. Unsure if there is power from the coil to the distributer, my brother checked spark by hanging onto the wire and having the engine cranked, low tech, but affective.

Battery sat on a charger overnight and didn't make a difference. It's odd, crank the engine and it will pop once and then 5 or 6 revolutions later it will pop again. Letting off the starter it will pop once or twice slowly afterwards.

Put a cap and rotor in that bitch. Its really quite easy. That should fix your problem.

Threw a birthday party for my brother today, but I was able to get the cap and rotor off. Stupid torx screws...

This looks screwed - my Dad still thinks it won't start after replacing this. To me - this looks WAY toasted...
