    what rollers should i get?

Well i just bought some gt40 heads and now i need to figure out what kind of rocker i should get. They are 3/8 stud pedistal mount rockers. I really have no idea on which to choose cause there is so many with diffrent attributes that im not sure what to get.

I think the only determining factor would be the gt40 heads and that i have a e-303 cam. I can only get 1.6's rockers since i have small valve covers. So if you can put any input to my decision that would be awsome. I want the FMS ones but just too spendy, something good but that doesnt cost like $260 like the FMS ones do.

if you could get me a part number cause crane has a set that i thought was the right ones then i goto work today and they say they are stud mount not pedistal and on the website they say pedistal mount. I kinda want to go crane, they are cheap and from what i hear good. Hell ford put them stock in the cobras.

http://www.tcstangs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7991 thats your ticket, as for valve covers, Im not sure but I think the 94/95 steel ones would clear just fine, that what my car came with, not the alum ones, plus 1.7's will give you a bit more lift, something your gona want sisne you now have better flowing heads and a good intake

im pretty sure they would fit just mine, I have also ran the small covers (non-tall) and they all fit, I'v heard the trick flow have even more clearnece then others, all i can say is stay with a good rocker, i tried some lesser ones and wasnt happy, the ford ones seems to be the best for pedistal mount ones, i had a set of $350 comp cams ones that didnt even work, i had to buy another set of fords

Well the guy im getting the heads from still have the set of rockers off the heads he is selling me. $100 for the whole set or original cobra rockers. I told him i didnt want them cause i wasnt sure they would fit with my valve covers. Its just the whole gamble thing, if they dont fit im stuck with them till i can sell them and then that also takes time and money away for me to get the right ones the first time.

I would pick those up for $100, I think your over estamating the diffrence beetween a 1.7 and a 1.6, its not going to make or break anything when it comes to valve covers

all you need to do is grind out the extra meterial by the oil filler on the pass side valve cover and they will clear, or get the valve covers for sale here

but in the off chance they hit the valve cover when im in the process of installing the heads then im screwed. Ive heard using two thick cork gaskets will make the valve cover tall enough to clear the rockers. Is this true?

my valve covers dont have an oil baffle to grind off. When i got them i had to drill a hole for the filler tube.
