I agree with everything said be LES.Originally posted by LES View PostHAHAHAH You guys crack me up, first if I was spending the money why bother with either of these blocks, go to a "IRON EAGLE" or "MAN OF WAR" for $300 more. And a 9.5 deck. And untill you have done it dont claim to know what you THINK you could build for a certain $$$$. And 2 beer will back me up on this. Nothing is cheap if done correctly.
back on Topic, for the Money I would pay $300 more and get the DART.
and yes I have done it. I built a BBC before my last build of a 347 which should be my first and last SBF ever. I thought it would cost $5K and it ended up being $8K.Mustangless!

Well if you can build a 700hp BBC for $8000 send me your secret recipe, because it will be a POS budget build. I am building a 9.5 deck now and my heads will eat up 1/2 of that $8000 and I am Praying for 700hp na.Originally posted by 289Notch View PostI agree with everything said be LES.

maybe you should buy some used yates from the race teams like my friend did. came with good titanium valves for under $2K. I am dead serious. He is almost done with his 440 windsor. Solid roller tunnel ram. will make 750 at the crank, with 2 standard flange prosystems HPs.Originally posted by LES View PostWell if you can build a 700hp BBC for $8000 send me your secret recipe, because it will be a POS budget build. Based on what I have read about the new boss block is ford cleaned up water passages and oiling there's more strength built into the block. They Ford racing claims it to be stronger than the original 302 boss blocks. That's about the biggest improvement is strength.

lol thats my bad... siamese bore means that the cylinder walls from inside touch each other. you may ask well why is this bad? well.... heat soak. cylinder distortion and loss of power. the dart doesnt use this siamese bore where as the boss block advertises a siamese bore.Originally posted by Akromix View PostYou might want to explain that since a lot of people are probably like "wtf does that mean?"

Doesn't the Boss block have partially siamesed bores so that they get benefits without the disadvantages you are talking about? IIRC they aren't fully siamesed, there are coolant passages between the bores.Originally posted by 1FSTFOX View Postlol thats my bad... siamese bore means that the cylinder walls from inside touch each other. you may ask well why is this bad? well.... heat soak. cylinder distortion and loss of power. the dart doesnt use this siamese bore where as the boss block advertises a siamese bore.1970 Mustang convertible 302/C4
