    Unusual stall

    This is a 98 f150 with a 5.4 214,000miles

It stalled while driving at different speeds and each time after rolling to a stop you turn the key of and then in and it will restart. The truck was loaded with a lot of weight at the time.

It drove for two hours on the freeway after the stalling and then it stalled again at the first stoplight. I cannot get it to stall again.

what would cause it to die and then restart immediatly.

If a fuel pump gets hot could it stall out and then restart.

I think if it was in the ignition system it would through a code. That makes me think fuel pump. I guess the problem is that it is not doing it now.

should have a crank code if its a crank sensor or likewise for any other code. doesnt mean it will it wont always throw a code but usually it will

that makes it hard to diag. Its gotta act up before you can diag it. But yes sounds like a fuel pump might be taking a shit. Or if you ask acr it is probably just bad gas

The other problem is that my dad has a long commute so I hate to send it off and have it die two hours from home. I was thinking of trying to get a long hose on a fuel pressure gage so I could watch it while driving. I may just put in a pump. It may be original.

                    Bad gas is a possibilty

not bad gas that was sarcasm. If you can duplicate it with a fuel pressure gauge on that would help. That pump is to expensive and to hard to put in to just slap one in unverified.

Another problem is the truck used to be duel fuel with propane. The fuel pump relay signal still goes through the conversion box. I thought about fixing that but it's a real mess. I pulled on all the wires while we were driving and I don't think the problem is there but it might be in the box. No one knows much about the conversion except the guy in SHokopee who put it in.

My dad won't let it go because to replace it with a low mileage pickup would be too expensive. It was my truck and I had problems with it. between the two of us I bet we replaced 13 coil packs
