Most of you know about my knock in my new(rebuilt) shortblock. See below for my original post.
Anyway, I put new lifters in and got the rockers adjusted because I was thinking of starting it to see if it was a bad lifter. I primed the engine with new oil and filter using a drill. I then put the distributor in and cranked the engine over a few times with just the starter. I could hear a knock deep in the engine, which is the same sound I heard without any valve train. I had oil pressure at about half way on the factory gage both times(drill and starter spin). I went back under the hood and saw this

It was sitting in the front of the lifter galley. Its about 1/2" long and has a slight curve on the backside of the break. I dont know how it got there, but I'm pretty sure it isnt from the distributor.
I'm thinking its part of a bearing, what do you guys think?

Captain Obvious reporting for duty.
ME! Turns out it IS a chunk from the distributor. Its acutally plastic
I guess I was thinking it looked like a part of the thrust bearing, dumbass
It was all coiled up and hanging
