A 2000 saturn SOHC motor. can be made a DOHC motor? That is to say IO have a 2000 saturn DOHC that needs a motor. I can get a 2000 SOHC motor cheap. Is it possible to just switch heads??

I have a 00 DOHC Saturn motor you may be able to fix cheeply. What happened to your motor? This one was running when pulled, but had a lower end knock noise. I havent even pulled it apart, but suspect a rod journal or something along those lines. It never smoked and still ran well besides the knock.
You may be able to salvage some of the parts and make one good motor between the two of them.
It is just taking space in my shop and you could have it for $60.(head alone worth at least twice that)
The motor is fairly complete with good head, all intake fuel injection/injectors, exh manifold, oil pan, etc... Good builder.

The big difference between the SOHC and DOHC on internals is that SOHC have dished pistons whereas the DOHC have relieved pistons. So there will be a difference in compression.
Otherwise, pick up an engine, you have to be able to find one cheap, I beleive 98-02 are the same.2013 Raptor
