So Casey? The big question is. Will an intercooler on f7rat get him to is goal.
Goal = Have a car that can spin the tires in first and second gear all the time. Have a car doesnt "feel" like it looses power after it warms up.
Another option, pull out the 3.08 gears and put in 3.73 or 3.55 gears. pull off renegade pulley and install stock paxton pulley, (get the water pump spinning faster.)and retune. It isnt a daily driver and I dont think fuel economy is a concern at all. A set of 3.73 or 3.55 are a hell of a lot cheaper than a $1400.00 intercooler. I still get 19mpg with my 3.55s. recommendations and suggestions are easier to make when the goal is know.

Thats a load of crap, at higher rpm the air only spends a fraction of a second traveling that distance and simply doesn't have time to pick up any huge amount of heat.....

Are you talking from experience or speculation. Have you ran an intercooler? Have you monitored ACT to see this for a fact? Somebody (F7RAT) is planning on dropping $1400.00 on an intercooler and plans that being his "fix".That would suck if it didnt give him the results he is looking for.
        Inquiring minds want to know?

Plus there isn't much surface area anyways. Along with how the air flows through the intake tract.

You can get a hell of an intercooler for way less than $1400. I got mine for right around $600...custom made and fully tested. My core measures 26x12x5 and the overall width is 12". Send me a PM if you need any more info.

I think you thought of the easiest answer to the problem. Changing gears from 3.08s to 3.55s or 3.73s would be by far and away the biggest bang for his buck. (I guess I never knew there were fox stangs running around out there still with stock gears).

And intercooler will deffinatly help the issue of the car loosing power after it heats up and is in warm air.. My car has been consistant at the track now with the intercooler down to a tenth of a second even on back to back runs with the intercooler. The car is still going to loose power on days that are hot, thats life of any car (cept for nitrous), but it wont loose as much. Aside from wanting to spin the tires in 1st and 2nd at will, what are the other ultimate goals for the car? Does he ever want to change cylinder heads and camshaft? These too would make for large gains in power, but he may not want to go that direction. That is were the option of an intercooler becomes benificial once again, by having the ability to make more power, and maintain all the factory charachateristics of normal driving.

It his eventual goal is to have over 450rwhp, with heads, intake and cam, well then we may as well tell him to save his $1400, drive the car like it is, and start building a bottom end, because at that kind of power level, his hypereutechnic (I cant spell that) pistons are going to be on barrowed time.

I heard that Fox bodies with intercoolers work pretty good, specialy with some recent results measured on the dyno.....

Yeah, mine never went above 93 degrees during any of the pulls on the dyno

Just use a 1 inch intake spacer , that helps.
