I looked, it's not in the door. The only wires that run to the door are for the speaker. Anyone else have an idea where it should be?

Maybe someone replaced the door and there is no sensor or wiring in it. Happens on re-builder's all the time. I would presume you are looking for it because you have a passenger side impact sensor code, correct?

It would probably help if you told us if the car is a 2 door coupe or 4 door sedan. The picture I posted is for a 2 door. I would assume now that you have a 4 door sedan and most likely the sensor will be in the B-pillar between the doors then. GMs website is not very clear on the 4 door. They describe it as being in the b-pillar, but give directions for taking the door panel off to remove it.

Airbag Side Impact Sensor Replacement (Sedan)

Notice: Do not use sensor if dropped from any height.

          1.

Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System .

          2.

Remove the B-pillar trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement in Doors.

          3.

          Disconnect the SIS connector.

          4.

          Remove the SIS bracket fasteners.

          5.

Remove the SIS bracket assembly (sensor, bracket and pigtail assembly).

          Installation Procedure

          1.

Place the fasteners into SIS bracket assembly.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

          2.

Drive the fasteners to secure to B-pillar.

          Tighten
Tighten the SIS Fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

          3.

Connect the SIS connector and insert the connector position assurance (CPA) to secure.

          4.

Does it have side air bags? Curtains or seat bags?
