What (Problems) to look for in older Trailblazers

I'm looking at picking up an older Trailblazer 02-05 as a second vehicle. Probably one with around 150 to 200k miles. What is the stuff to look for on these? Anything I should check and make sure is replaced? Are any models better than others?

You could also look at a awd v6 vue with the Honda motor. Same class and I'd trust that more than a tb. That a lot of miles for a gm.

Vues did roast trannys a lot. Dont get an older blazer. Lots of dif and trany issues, and just an overall shitty vehicle. The 6s get shit mileage. Im a gm guy and would never consider this vehicle as a reliable driver. These cars have made me too much money at the old shop.

Biggest thing I'd look out for is if it really is a trailblazer.

He's not asking about older "Blazers"... unless you mean older TrailBlazers.

Thanks for clarifying but yes I am talking about the trailblazers. Sorry I just blend shitty cars together.

My cousin has had minimal issues with his... but he's also under 100k on it so it may not have hit the usual problems yet.

The stupid ass fan clutch bullshit, thermostats, fuseblock condensation under the rear seat, clock spring throwing Service Stabilitrack codes.

The S10's have issues with that too? I swear ours has sometimes.

If I remember correctly the first year of the trailblazer (2003?) had a pretty high rate of tranny failures. Outside of that, I haven't heard of too much.

Not positive. I just know the Trailblazers and envoys w/ the I-6 did

The main problem is that they set the trails ablaze.

The S10 fan clutch was dirt cheap compared to a Trailblazer's.
