1986 ford ranger

1986 ford ranger. Extended cab 2 wd.
Getting a 5" drop that im taking off a scrap ranger I picked up.
Also swapping in a v8/t5.
The engine is out of a 97 explorer so its got all the gt40 goodies. Also the accesory drive is much closer to the block allowing for more space infront.
Putting in a e303 cam, 1.7 roller rockers, new lifters and push rods. Also a spring upgrade to allow for the better cam. Also upgrading to 24lb injectors, 65mm throttlebody and maf. Upgraded fuel pump and aftermaket rails and fpr.wil be running tri-y SS headers.
The engine and heads only have 5k miles on a professional rebuild.
The t5 came with a hurst shortshifter but is otherwise stock.
Rear end will be out of a 2000 v8 explorer with 3.73 gears. With the new front suspension I will be getting upgraded to 2 piston calipers rather than the stock single piston.

I hear they sell garden hedging at menards. I bet it wouldn't be to hard to fashion up.

Yep. They actually fit better then swap specific headers. 65-70 mustang tri-y headers.

looks like my valvespring kit is on back order till april so that really slowsdown progress. but there is plenty to do tillthen anyways

The motor already has a 65mm TB stock... sell the BBK one..

Lifters and rockers showed up yesterday

Got the fittings for the fpr, gaskets and a tool kit. Good day.

Getting the engine stripped down to ssendit to mn5.0 for the valvetrain install.

Test fitting the headers. Don't seem to have any clearance issues on the gt40p heads

looks like it might be a bitch to get to the #2 plug..

Ya its tough but I took it out and installed it finr. Just need to use an older socket. Ill just have to get some sleeves for the plug wires. Not too bad.
