Don't recall my car ever doing that

I recall it even starting quicker than his car at car craft also

Ya, its come a long way It had a lot wrong with it at that point. But it was more owner error than a carb problem.

My car came with fuel injection and I swapped it for a carb setup. Now its faster

Not that doubling the cylinder count and displacement didn't help.
