Go try a track day at a road course sometime and see how well an SVT Focus does against MUCH more expensive cars.

I apologise for using a generalization but I thought the video of the sad little Focus getting the wave by from a Terminator and an LX 5.0 kind of made my point for me.

Yeah, can't say I remember a Focus ever "doing well" on any road courses I've raced at compared to well set up cars. I'm sure there is some Focus that someone has poured thousands of dollars into to prove a point, but in the 4 years I've been racing I've never seen an especially fast Focus.

You're probably right, Road and Track must have been mistaken when they picked the SVTF over the BMW M3 for sport compact of the year a few years back.

Did you watch the video I posted? The SVTF with the camera in it had stock tires, brakes and suspension and an early Jackson Racing supercharger which would have put the car at about 190-200 whp. The owner was the driver and he was a relative beginner at the time.

You all know what even a stock Terminator is capable of and I have no info on the cobra in the video so I can only assume it was stock.

Was a lot of fun to drive, and hate to say it folks, but with a simple short ram and a tune, the car WILL do well over 140. But as others have said... it takes a long time to get there. Car is far more fun i nthe twisties than in a straight line.
