The problem...
I keep thinking about building a new pc but I have several programs now that I don't have disks for to re-install....
The test....
Cloned my hard drive to a 2nd and installed it in a different pc, it would boot up in safe mode but not normal mode, this makes me think if I had all the drivers for the different hardware I could get it to work....
The question....
What are my odds of getting an already loaded hard drive to run in a new pc?
I may just get a better vid card for the current machine and try overclocking the cpu and video, but that would give small results compared to a better machine. Currently have...
HP Compaq d530 CMT
3.2ghz P4 HT (Northwood core), upped from 2.6 that came with it
2.5gb DDR400
XFX 6600GT video card
Northwoods are supposed to oc pretty well it looks like, except I don't think my HP mb supports it...
Any of you guys with all the junk laying around have a socket 478 184-pin mem mb laying around you want to part with? That would allow me to play with oc'ing it, or are there other ways to do it if the board doesn't support it directly?
