I worked a 32 hr day once when the company I was working for was converting to a different inventory system so everything in the entire 300,000 sq ft warehouse and an 80,000 sq ft satellite warehouse had to be scanned into the computer. I got the joy of being on the committee that was in charge of the conversion...
I worked a 76 hour straight once several years ago during a server outage at the company. Yup... 3 days plus a few hours. Friday night to Tuesday morning.
Salary, so it really sucked.
After 36 hours your body shifts into cruising mode... everything takes longer to accomplish but you don't really feel tired.
Have had many many many 24+ shifts over the years.
15+ years in IT and software engineering will do that. It's almost expected.
