Who has one a race that they had no chance of winning?

I was driving around my low 14 sec mustang (245 width street tires, no nitrous) in st paul last fall when this black 01 ws6 6spd started following me. We ended up at a stopsign with open road in front of us. He counted to 3 and went before he said 3 so he got a good car length jump on me. I (for some unknown reason) reeled him in like I was racing a metro. By the time I hit 70 I had almost 3 car lengths on him. WTF? I talked to him afterwards and he was racing the whole time. He said I had a real fast car, said he was bone stock but "knew how to drive it", and went on his way.

There was obviously something wrong with his car or his driving skills, but I was happy cause I'd just whooped an ls1 without the bottle

I lost to Matt87GTA when he was in his stock '95 LT1 Z. I also lost to steve in his stock 2000 T/A.

Today, around 1:00. Blue mach 1. Pulled a carlenth before we had to slow because of traffic. He gave me thumbs up, and then exited on carlson, off of 394. Anybody here?

I lined up with a Blue IROC camaro a few years ago, my car was basically stock (And slow). we got at a light next to each other, and i looked over and saw he had a cowl hood, he looked over and said, ok, but my 2nd gear is mess up, but ill run ya. so im like, hey, what ever. so we go, he walked me from the light, but then i start to pull, and i passed him, at the next light i had to pull a U-turn cause i passed my street, then i saw it said IROC on the side, i was like, wow, i beat an IROC. he waved and smiled and i was like...sweeeeeet. i was to ignorant to realize that those cars where slow, but my car was really slow then! i still cant believe i won that one!

stock foxes will always beat any stock camaro 92 and older

I was driving my 94 probe GT 5-speed after school one day in rosemount... (uh oh... SOMEONE knows where this is going )



actually it was keith (LX Sport). he just got his heads and cam in (and had a lotta other stuff too). we all laughed, everyone was watching. i won until about 115 when he flew past me. lol. good times were had by all but one. sorry keith, you will NEVER hear the end of that one

senior year HS i beat a 440-6 roadrunner up on uni (only time i ever raced anyone on that road from stop! seriously!) we were side by side a couple lights in a row didn't do nothing, on last light i was going, and i guess he thought the exact same thing, it was pretty cool really.
and before this i was a big mopar fan and loved big block roadrunners so i was just shocked!

2 years ago i raced a 97 SS camaro from a 25mph roll and pulled on him, and yes he was racing. i rolled next to him after we were done and he said that my car was pretty damn quick. i think this guy didn't know dick about driving because i was running with the stock rear end gears which made my car a dog.

I don't know about that, My stock '88 IROC convert beat many stock fox's.

Well, as the "winner" of that race I would have to say I hadn't even guessed I would have had a chance when I was next to Mike so that falls into the category of this thread.... But to be fair he did eventually pass me and I got a little jump on him.... It would have been a mighty close 1/4 mile race when you take those things into account.

That and the Z is a 96 and (besides suspension mods) has an airfoil, CAI, TB bypass, WS6 tune, a catback, and 3.73s...... Pretty close to stock though....

Well I wouldn't go that far.... There are some TPI 3rd gens that were decently quick but most were struggling to hit 14s at all. The thing is some Fox's were in the exact same boat depending on the year and options (like gearing) so I just can't agree with that statement. 91-92 cars were easy mid 14 second cars with some even dipping into the low 14s bone stock. And now that ya mention it, I remember edging out a couple of Fox body cars with my old 85 TA here and there. Hard to say what exactly the details of the situations were, but that is sort of the point of this thread anyways .

Black fox body at RF with slicks and 150 shot. Launched real nice. Made me look like ass off the line. god to about 330 and fell on its nose.....bottle went dry. I caught and passed by the end. Felt like a stud catching him. Thought he was just jerkin my chain at the end. Was kinda funny. Then he told me he ran outta spray.

I raced Scott (allstock93gt) in my GT on the bottle and it was before I knew him and what his car had. I thought I might have a chance but lets just say he layed the smack down that night.
