I'm thinking of getting a Springfield XD 9mm.

I have no personal experience with this gun, but all the reviews I've read are glowing. The cost makes it a very solid value. I'm buying the 5" tactical 40. My advice would be to go to a local range and try one out. I know Bill's Gun Shop does the rental and has a nice indoor range.

xd9 subcompact

i had a chance to try a xd 9 subcompact, pretty nice peice. its square and block looking compared to a kimber but feels good in your hand (better than a glock), shoots good with good repeatable patterns. i was using a xd9 with 3 inch barrel and way more accurate than a kahr 9mm. sportsmans warehouse has xd9 w\2 clips, holster, and speed loader for $474. i think a xd9 w\4 inch barrel would be just as accurate as the kimber i also tried, and the kimber is double the price of a xd9.

Much nicer gun then the glocks, I have had 2 9mm in the past, and now have a .40 S&W. Cant beat the quality for the price, and they take a beating, are acurate and reliable.

Sportsman's Warehouse is where I was looking at it. The accessories that come with it make it a very nice package deal. I was looking at some comparable glocks and this one was much more comfortable to hold.

I'd read a bunch of reviews on it and it seems like a solid piece; I just wanted to run it by TCS to get the official seal of approval

Sportsman's Warehouse is where I was looking at it. The accessories that come with it make it a very nice package deal. I was looking at some comparable glocks and this one was much more comfortable to hold.

I carry an XD45. Great gun, a bit more accurate than the Glocks (IMO). I won't buy another Glock. The one thing I will say is Springfield fashioned the handgrip a bit different on the XD than most other guns. I would make sure you hold one before you buy.

You cant go wrong with the XD's... I have the 9, 40, and the 45
The 9 is a much better carry gun than my heavy 45.

I have held it and the grip fits nicely in my hand, much more comfortable than some of the other ones I looked at. I'm looking mostly for plinking, but I do plan on getting the C&C eventually.

LOL, I never shot you with a pellet gun... it was an airsoft gun
