    New track talk????

Nascar now has reported a group is looking at building a new high banked oval & drag strip in the Minneapolis area. They are looking to spend $200M on the project.
If this happens it should be open in 2010.

What do you guys think ???

I went to a asscar race in Vegas years ago. The first highspeed run, down the straight away was cool. After that it was gay, so I left and wanderd around.

      Dragstrip tracks FTW!

Too many Fag liberals live around here. The Fun police will be out in full force to stop anything like this happening. However I would be for it, of course. They coudn't even get a track built north of Forest lake. So how could it happen in the Metro? Like I said, I would support it.

I think a nascar track with a big strip would be good for the economy. Look at how many people go to those races. I think if they built one out west of the cities somewhere it would be fuckin sweet

If it did happen, it wouldn't be close to 2010. Various enviro groups would sue. It would be tied up in the courts for years. Politicians would form "blue ribbon" panels to study the idea. Then if it passed, we'd have to have a quota of minority contractors and other disenfranchised groups get their "fair share" of the contracts. We'd probably have to have another panel formed to oversee that. They'd also need a panel of animal rights kooks to see that no insects were harmed in all the earth moving. There would be a fight over the tax revenue. It would have to be some sort of "carbon neutral" track as well... you get the idea.

This was tried once already a few years back. I think it was in the Otsego area, and the locals voted it down. If that hickville said no, it ain't happening in MN, ever.

I never said it was. Besides, I went to high school in Elk River so I know the difference.

Gay as aids. First, it'll never happen within 50-100 miles of the cities, and eve if it did, I'd never, ever support a Nascar track unless it was a road course.
