but they told me those 2 stories

1 that it is 100% our fault

I've been in your place, the only way to really get out of it is pay what you owe.

If it says they had to inform you in the lease, then you can get away without paying beyond the last month on the lease. I don't get what you keep saying is "100% your fault". If you're saying are you 100% liable? Yes, you are if you break the terms of the lease, and you'd get your ass handed to you in court.

JJ it doesn't matter what they are tellling you. Read the lease and you will know everything needed. When you goto court (if it happens) the judge is going to go by the lease. Hear say is not going to fly.

Do what you gotta do to get out of the apartment. I can almost guarantee that you are not going to get out without aquiring some additional costs. That's the facts of life. If you don't pay your car payment the lender takes the car and kills your credit. If you don't pay your credit card bill the credit card company compounds you with interest and kills your credit. If you don't pay your rent the rental person is going to kill your credit and get what is owed to them going by the lease.

I'm sure your pretty stressed out because of money. Your going to have to take this as a lesson in life and move on. Hopefully you can learn from this and sit down and figure how much all of your debts come out to every month. If it's higher than what you make you will have to make some budget cuts somewhere or get another job to support your family.

Your at a tough time bro. It happens to all of us. Don't try and blame someone else for your money problems. The apartment complex didn't ask you to move in. You decided you wanted to live there. It's the same as complaining about credit card bills. The credit card company didn't decide you needed X amount of stuff. You did. Everything was started by you. If you made a bad decision then you'll have to find the best way of dealing with it.

Good Luck! Keep your head and deal with this in the best manner you can.

Most leases require a 60 day move out notice, this is nothing new. You should have received a renewal letter 75 days or so before your lease was up.

Month to month leases have a max notification of 45 days. The 60 day notice on a month to month is illegal.

There is nothing anyone here can tell you because everyones lease agreements vary.

Month to month is usually 30 days. Only because they jack the piss out of you to go month to month.

Dude, I hate to sound like an old man, but if you cant afford to pay rent, it might be time to sell your car, sell the bike (if you still have it), buy a car from LTD for a DD, and don't have any toys for a while. Just work, pay bills, and live real humble. Wait until you get your degree, or you've advanced at your job to where your making decent money, and you can afford to buy toys. Just my opinion
