Top speed?

On my way home from work people were calling into KDWB and telling there top speeds that they have gone in an Automobile, the top guy claims to have gone 201 mph and he said "Everyone in the cities will know what car it is" sooo, anyone know? he said it was done on 169 outside of grand rapids.

My top speeds are:

Bike: 173mph on my 2002 R6. Atleast thats what the speedo read. I know they are not "supposed" to be able to go that fast.

Car: 160+ I had the mustang speedo buried for a while and passed a bike doing 155. and Bmikkalson and I had his dads 94 Supra doing 160 down 61 a few years back.

173 - stated on speedometer down 494 toward airport on the river crossing (1981 Eurospec 911 turbo, punched to 3.6, RS cams, k-27 turbo, wastegate control - 416 hp) verified by formula (RPM, gear ratio, tire height). Still accelerating HARD, but ran out of room late one night. 6300 rpm in top gear and pulling hard. Had fun that night with a ZX-11 Ninja. He had NO idea that a car could cruise by him at full throttle.

I've done 145ish in a Benz SLK230, everything else I've gone fast in only had 85mph speedos.

145 on my cbrf2,160 plus on the back of a buddys 929, could no longer read the speedo eyes watered so bad lost contact, buried cobra speedo so 140 plus,and 120 on a thundercat 1000..

'70 Buick LeSabre Custom 455: 163 MPH - RADAR clocked, courtesy of the MN State Hwy. Patrol. It was fully wound out -- I held it there for over 20 miles.

My GN: 161 MPH (on my computer readout from the OBD-I port) while racing a Mercedes 600 V-12 on an empty stretch of interstate. The GN was not fully wound out -- I had about 7 more lbs of boost to go & was still a few hunderd RPM below the rev. limiter. The Mercedes was computer-limited @ 160 MPH.
