TCS poker tournament, January 7th, 8pm

I'm planning the first game of my winter long monthly poker game and I'm wondering what would be a good buyin and if people would be able to make January 7th.

1st question:

Should the buy-in be at 20$ or 15$. Will also take donations for food/beverages.

2nd question:

Should I have the first tournament on Saturday, January 7th or should I book it for a date later in January. Would obviously be the weekend after New Years.


Please leave your opinion in this thread only if you actually plan on playing. This will be hosted at my house in Andover in my gameroom. I have a few nice hold'em tables.

#1 You might want to sell glasses for $5.00 instead of charging additonal to play poker. (Or take donations) Too many cops. What you decide to do with the money is your call. Personally I would donate $10.00 if you were going to have Beer and Munchies.

#2 Jan 7th works for me.

Buy-In? I think $15.00 is decent.

So in a nut shell, $25.00 for a nights entertainment is CHEAP!

100% payout is fine, this will be RSVP. We can make it 15$ buy in and extra 5$ for a 'cup' or a donation towards snacks/beverages.
