comp geek question (I HATE DELL)

I won't even get into the story this time, just wondering if anyone knows if the thermal paste dell uses is conductive? Someone anyone? I don't feel like cleaning off anymore of this shit from between pins if it isn't.

mildly. Only because it has a small amount of water in it. I'd clean it out good just to be sure.

Just be glad you're not using pure copper thermal paste...or even pure gold. I have both...havn't used either of them in a LONG time.
    god damned tinypic.

Thermal paste (some) also has metal flakes in it. But id say either way, ANYTHING liquid + small electronics = bad idea. I work on tiny(microscopic) electronics all day, so this is from personal experiance.

Eh, I have smeared arctic silver all over processors before and they have been fine. Clean it off as best you can, but nothing to lose sleep over.

Yes, because water is conductive.... Although copper is quite conductive, gold isnt, or better said does not have the properties where 3.3-5v of electricity would matter.

Actually my gold thermal paste IS conductive. And yes...GOLD itself is very electrically conductive.
