The bastardization of muscle car names continues, spy pics of the dodge "charger"

And of course, it's going to have a hemi in it. I know I own a mach 1, but at least my mach is a true "nod" towards the origional machs and really hits the mark with what it's name carries, but I have a huge problem with dodge F'ing up the charger name with this stupid car.

Let's run down the list of dodge names they have screwed up.. R/T.. rumblebee.. and now the charger. What's next? A 4 door cuda?

This car is going to be a serious dissapointment to people who hold classic mopars up on a pedestal. It's no secret that I'm a huge mopar muscle fan and I just feel a bit dissapointed in Dodge. Why can't they give this car a different name?? It looks just like all the other junk they have.

Anyways, the only thing they are doing good about this new LX based car is the base model isn't getting the shitty little 2.7l the 300 and the Magnum have. Base model is going to be the 3.5l.

I do agree, this should not be a Charger. But, NAIAS is less than a month away. They are going to put on a big show involving this and a few other vehicles. I'm just praying for a miracle and it'll have a different name, and the 2 door they are going to show will have the Charger name on it instead.

Eh, who cares about this being a "Charger"? Ever seen a "charger" from the Early 1980's? It was a FWD, N/A 4-banger with like 80 horsepower. Shit, they called THAT a Charger.

I really don't think there's grounds to bitch. Mopar will be cranking out a roughly-300 horsepower AWD V8 *car* that can haul something. Ford's answer? The fucking 500, which doesn't even have a real performance version. GM? They have the malibu and the Impala.

Let's see... 300, Magnum, "Charger" or.... Mailbu, 500... um...gee... I think I'll take the one that gets 25 mpg, better styling, and the 300 horsepower V8
