The 3.0L V6 was the worst. Guaranteed head gasket failure.

One of my wheeling buddies has a 4runner, he put a 4.3L GM motor in it. It hasn't had the best track record, but still better than the Toyota motor that was in there I guess.

I have seen dozens of 4.7's with head gasket issues, rod knock, rockers that pop off for no reason, ect, they get horrible gas mileage and are expensive as fuck to replace, the 5.2/5.9 was a way better engine no question.

Toyotas worst engine is the 3.0
Between head gasket issues and truck frames breaking in half I'll pass.

Was run out of oil somehow and makes horrible metal on metal smashing sounds. What I can't figure out is where the oil went. Did an oil change about 1000 miles before it blew up and it was fine. After it was towed back filled it back up with oil and it didn't leak anywhere. Started it and let it make noise for a while since I knew it was toast and there were no external leaks that I could find. Hasn't leaked any of that oil out sitting for 3 months. Coolant still looks clean. Didn't see any obvious spray or leaks in the engine bay. So I can't figure out where all the oil went, but it really doesn't matter now. I'll tear down the old motor and look at it once I get a new one in.

The A/C compressor is mounted on the lower driver's side vs upper passenger side, and the bosses that the motor mounts bolt to moved.

Does it have an oil cooler? I've seen them crack and obviously the oil is under more psi than the coolant so it gets pumped into the cooling system.

Not sure if it did or not, but the coolant was normal.

head gasket issues on a 3.4? You are thinking 3.0. The 3.4 is not known for that.

Its sad Toyota used Dana to manufacture those frames, when they made them in Japan there was no such issues. And even then, its not very widespread. Ive seen the same couple pictures for years surfacing on the net.

Oh I understand you were, which is why I called you a total morAn. When we are talking Toyota and Toyota engines and a guy quotes you saying Toyota only makes good four cyl and says the 4.7 is good, you can pretty much rest assured he is talking Toyotas 4.7.

Pretty obvious. Just admit your mistake. For a used car salesman you are slipping breh.
