Just for the record, and i know nobody will believe it,the fact that it's a mopar has very little to do with it. The fact that it's a classic that isn't being made anymore does. My passion for classic cars runs deep and wide,my passion for scumbag fucktards not so much.

I'm glad your opinion is to forgive and forget those that cause misfortune to others. My opinion is to eliminate them out of the gene pool, and possibly out of the general population. One does not accidentally break into someone else's house/car/property, people don't accidentally decide to take drugs, and stupid decisions are not an accident (well, they're more like common occurance in MN). I'm a firm believer for every action there should be an equal and opposite reaction. For a career criminal that will never provide anything useful to society and will forever be a drain on society, it would be better to get rid of them.

For me it really comes down to this. Be judgmental, angry, and hate the world over things that not only had a direct effect on me, but even those things that didn't.

Or, try to not let those type of things bother me. And when it does have an effect on me, try to find the good in the bad and have a bit of compassion, empathy, and understanding for others. I'm not always successful in this, but most of the time I am.

I have lived it both ways, but I will say this much, my life is so much better since letting the shit go. It is much more calm, peaceful, and relaxed that it was before. I look at my ugly mug in the mirror every day and I thank my lucky stars for the people around me (family and friends), everything I have, and the changes for the good I have made. Sure, life is not perfect, but in many ways it is the closest it has ever been for me. It was a lot of hard work and took years to get here. I wish this for everyone.

Actually I have, although I can't say it was a "parasite" who did it.

Several years back I got my car broken into while parked in a lot off the Gateway Trail. Was I happy about it? No. Did I wish death or herpes upon the doer? No. I have insurance with a deductible I can live with. The loss was covered.

Remember last year when I took the digger after hitting the 4x4 some kids put across the road? I know who did it. A kid I work with goes to school with one of them. He heard about it through the grapevine. Did I pursue it? No. I lost no work as a result. I healed up just fine. I have insurance so I was out my $75 co-pay (yeah, only $75 for the ER visit and imaging...fucking BALLER insurance, eh?). I thought back to the stupid shit I did as a kid, like the time I knocked the neighbor girl off her bike with a bouncy ball and busted out a couple of her teeth. Her family showed kindness and compassion towards my stupidity. I guess I did the same.

This past spring I was walking back to my car after buying some chicken and malt liquor. I watched a some kid pull in and park next to me, get out in a hurry, and smack his car door into the side of my car, putting a nice ding in it (brand new car, less than two weeks old). I calmly walked over to him and asked him about it. At first he was just your typical punk kid, denying it and posturing all about. Instead of going nuts on him I took the time to talk to him and reason through it all. He quickly calmed down and apologized, saying he was in a hurry and didn't mean to do it. Sure, I could have went through the hassle of making an insurance claim or asking him to pay for it out of pocket. I decided it was not worth my time and he really did seem like a decent kid, and after talking to him for a bit he seemed to be just down on his luck. $50 of PDR later and all was good.

Yeah, I know. None of these involved some meth head parasite and I wasn't driving some six figure Mopar.

There was a time when I did let shit get to me, even shit that had little or nothing to do with me. It took me a long time, traveling over some very rocky roads, to realize I needed to change my mind-set before I literally destroyed myself. It took a lot of work to make the change, but I am in a much better place for it.

I guess maybe as time has gone on I have realized that part of the reason this world is going to hell in a hand basket is so many people are hell-bent on REVENGE and getting even instead of taking the time out to think that we are all human, we all screw up, and maybe, just maybe, the world would be a better place if more empathy and compassion were shown than hatred, anger, blood lust, and revenge.
