The solution is obvious, Buy A DFI car, delete MAF with a Megasquirt, and install some valve cover breathers/EGR delete.

VW/Audi cars have been seeing these problems now, problem too is you just can't get the car hot and yank out the fuel rail and spray the runners with throttle body clean to decarbon the valves.

Our BG rep said they bought a new Taurus SHO and have been seeing MPG constantly drop due to carbon buildup. The only major drawback of DFI.

BTW You can make huge power with direct injected engines...

and it can also limit you! more so of the later.

Direct injection will kill big power. that's the main reason the Cobalt SS/HHR SS is hindered. It's got its limitations.

but they still make some decent numbers. Imagine if they had 8 cyl the fuel system i bet could support 900hp with upgraded pumps. Cobalts still hold mid 400s on stock fuel system.
