They should open a porkys on main street in Anoka. Think of how busy it would be because of the car show. The spot on the corner of main and ferry was for sale it would have been perfect.

Hell no. Anoka county is absolutely the worst in terms of law enforcement. Washington Co. is where you need it (outside Woodbury anyhow).

Not anymore. At bar close every on duty cop is sitting on jackson st waiting for drunks. They tamed way down in the last few years, nobody gives a shit about cruising anymore.

BTW: Anoka's cruise scene is completely dead. They took down the no-cruise signs a long time ago.

What are the rules with regards to hanging out at a spot? Do the police have any grounds to kick people out as long as they are a patron to a place of business?

If all it takes is for the group to spend money on burgers, fries, etc, why dont people hang out at all the places across from Har Mar on Snelling?

There are multiple fast food resturants, Old Chicago is there, BW3's, and it is still near the heart of the city.

It would actually remind me of the old Wards days if people could hang in the Har Mar lot and cruise multiple food stops. The road is wide, easy access to the Hwy, etc...

Realistically as long as everyone made sure to buy stuff from the businesses, kept reciepts, what could the police do? As long as everyone was civil and didnt cause problems I think it could work. I use to know a handful of Roseville Cops that were total gearheads (I grew up in Roseville and got to meet some of the finest first hand, and they were always pretty cool).

Im sure some place will pop up down there.. the auto trader lot used to have more people in it then porky's hell even the midway building had a ton of people hanging out. I suppose there is always wendy's. :jail:

Havent been there in a while but down by Famous Daves Blues bar is nice. If Yurkew tattoo is still there down by the bus station closer to 35, not as safe.

We used to hit all the bars on Lake st and mind you this was in the early 90's and never felt it was dangerous.


That makes another "Priority" for this spring. Get to Porkys with my photographer to do a photo shoot before it get demolished.
