    Garage Floor.

Who's painted their garage/shop floor? I want to do the whole grey with speckle thing and want to know what you've done, what holds up, and what doesn't??

    Any info would be cool.

I did the rust-oleum stuff you buy from menards. I bought the professional stuff and applied it about 3 months after my concrete was done (there was no oil, dirt etc). Over 5 years later nothing peeling, cracking etc.

My workplace is being remodeled, and before they put the epoxy down they literally scraped off a layer of the old concrete with this elaborate gas powered machine, prepping is everything.

Before I knew about the site below I would power wash, maybe etch it and then run a couple of dehumidifiers to get as much water out of the concrete as possible.

This has been a long time coming. It will be a work in progress and if you guys know of any brands I am missing on here please post a link so I can add them. *Everything is listed in square feet. I just used "ft" because I figure it is understood we are talking about square feet here. Epoxy...

at the ladys dads house we used a buffer with green or red pads cant remember the end result was great and its been a year and they park their cars in the garage and dont clean the floor much in the winter. and it still is in great shape and nothing peeling. i think he also used the rust-oleum speckle paint. his floor was pretty clean to start with tho.

I made a thread just like this one...

I have yet to do something with mine. Looking like a spring project.

prep is big. We used hydrofluoric acid to clean it first, dehumidifiers for the night then coated it. No problems, even to one burnout.

Rustoleum Professional garage floor epoxy here.

6 years later it's still pretty good, a few chips in the concrete itself but I'm pretty sure it's from moisture coming up through the concrete. No issues with the actual coating except with clear coat it's like standing on an oil sprayed non-stick pan.
