    Garage Floor Coatings...what's good?

Looking for garage floor coating options. Would prefer something that I can do myself. Would like something that is bright, durable, resists weathering, cracking, oil, chemicals and moisture. Would also like something that will increase traction with some for form of sand or grit in it.

Anyone have an suggestions as to what's good, or experience with garage floor coatings?

I bought the rustoleum on my 1st place and it held up fairly well (about 60/stall at menards hd etc..)
bought the rustoleum Professional for my new home 3 yrs ago and its trashed, but I am guessing the new slab wasnt fully dry and the main culprit.
realitively easy to apply, simply mix the epoxy and roll on (once the concrete is prepped based on your conditions )

I am only very lightly experienced but nothing sticks to a floor that is already sealed. and nothing sticks to floors that wick moisture from the ground.

all I have noted is on the epic failures. I've seen different products that look good.

I'm a fan of floor tiles. they are cheap.

Two part epoxies will stick to concrete. that is what you see on the floors of manufacturing facilities or machine shops, warehouses. The concrete has to be past it's 28 day cure time before applying. If any concrete sealer has been applied it must be removed, either mechanically, or through a 10% muriatic acid wash. the rustoleum kits are a two part epoxy and tend to work pretty well in most cases.

it is important that any oil on the surface is removed, and if the concrete surface was steel troweled really smooth, you may need to rough up the surface first. Rental stores have things like floor buffers that you mount abrasive blocks in it and it scarifies the surface of concrete.

Muriatic acid wash won't remove all oil. For that you need a special oil removal product. These products break the bond of the oil with the concrete and allow you to flush the oil away.

          I used

          with

like 5 or 6 years ago now. It's holding up great! Theres a couple blowouts in it due to moisture wicking up, but nothing big or major. I spent a lot of time prepping the surface since the previous owner painted the concrete with some latex shit. But I've been 100% pleased with it.

For the record, I'm not in the garage 365 days of the year 12 hours a day, but it has held up to all the fluids I've poured and shit I've drug across it. The clear coat is slippery as hell when wet, and literally slicker than ice when a little snow gets on it.

Mine is coated in used motor oil, 90w grease, transmission fluid, a big paint spill, some brake fluid and anti freeze.

Holds up great not a single crack and very water resistant.
