I know when I bill on a "fee" base, $50/ hour would not cover my E&O insurance so I agree $50 fee is not much. It was also PolishedBirdTurds choice of words when he used the word "fee."
I know that 52 wk/yr. * 40 hr/wk = 2080 hr/yr. However I have been around the block enough time that MANY companies do NOT calculate salary that way. To call out a champ and state 2080 as the correct answer, is not actually the right answer. Just an FYI.

In the end, WTF does any of that have to do with the price of tea in China? It was a "Look @ ME" how cool am I statement. Over what? He wants to defend TCPW based on the fact PolishedBirdTurd make a lot of money? Give me a break!

Just wanted to give him grief since he made the clarification that it wasn't 100K/year...actually most salary situations I've dealt with do count it based on 2080. Personally (being hourly) I estimate based on 2000, gives me a few days off and accounts for any overtime.

First of all, you fail at sarcasm...

Second, you fail at teaching those young kids at RK meets what rice is, because many of them are driving ricers...

Third of all, i see plenty of drama going on in the threads of RK. Seen it get almost as bad as here, so how dare you come to TCS (rulers of the known universe) and mock it with your ignorant commentary...

Good day sir, and dont let the door hit you on the way back to RK ville!!!

O I C. Didn't know you only meant it to yank his chain
The comments made using the words "contract/ contractor employees" and fees using the base of 2080 was what made me raise an eyebrow. Years and I mean years ago I learned to deduct my vacation time from my calculated earnings. Meaning if I enter negotiated and request 4 weeks off per year I deduct 160 hours off of 2080. This is due to me being unable to bill on a "fee" base. I'm not getting into anything deeper than that on TCS. To learn more search PMBOK.

But what the deuce is with TCPW charging for a job that at best was a learning experiment for the operator? The quality of finished product that was billed against looked to be the first time he has ever used his skilled trade knowledge with. Those wheels looked like a training exercise and nothing more! Nor should it have been. Using 5 time the amount of product on a job is gross neglect and should not have been charged to the customer, period. Now for an outside party to chime in and defend a job based on how much his fee rates is circumstantial. PolishedBirdTurd has no footing in this debate. Unless PolishedBirdTurd can exhibit work products from TCPW with lab results showing manufacturer guidelines have been followed, his words are irrelevant. BirdShit should have kept his trap shut or show his TCPW's did fall in the 2 mill's of thickness with NO bubbles or paint runs. Then and only then would he have a proper rebuttal. But to just chime in stating TCPW does good work because an outside party charges a fee of $50 for unrelated work, is well...a dumb sh!t comment.

The wheels were done by an incompetent operator and should not have been charged to the consumer. Plain and simple.

No, I appreciate it actually. I do not see a dime in sponsor money, yet. At the beginning of the year we only had a hand full of guys coming out. Those things are in the works.
I posted that because people were basing their views of me based only on SFC's posts. I wanted a chance to correct. If it came off wrong again, oh well, I need to just remember it's the internet. The thing that get's me most often is others can hide behind a screen name, may only ever meet a choice few of the forums members. I meet 100's every week. It's not a popularity thing, it just is what it is. It pisses me off to no end that I would get bashed for doing something for the auto community, and get hate for it.
The meets are free, sponsor money hardly offsets any of my own personal costs for this. If you look at the difference in forums, you can tell RKC puts a lot back into the website. TX has many costs we don't here so they eat up everything. They have security, clean up and promotional fees. Those things I two will have and will continue to pursue more sponsors. It's a shame the season is almost over.

Also the meets are weekly, not a once or twice a year thing, there is way more involvement and commitment needed to get sponsors out. To make that happen it would be a very poor paying full time job.

Thanks for the feedback, positive or otherwise.

I have a friend "sponsored" by Monster Energy. Once a year they send him some cups, a couple cases of drinks, condoms, etc... with the hope he hands them out at shows. Basically he is an advertising pawn. He collects no money or anything that supports his car. I am sure thats the same thing with NOS and RK
