I have a 79 Chevrolet Corvette L82 project -Got it from a guy that pieced it together from a rolling chassis, put a motor/trans in it and got it running, I have since put a few nights into it making it a little better, and now it's someone elses turn- I have 3 other cars that require my attention so this is a chance to get a nice start to a project car that is 90% complete plus it runs and drives! open to trading for other cars/trucks as well...
The goodish
Clear MN title/plates/tabs (good til August 2013)
It runs and drives
Has a fresh rebuilt 350(mild cam, Edelbrock intake/carb) motor runs great and has a nice lope to it (shakes whole car)
Rebuilt stock TH350 trans
At least 4.10 gears in the rear end (cruising @50mph is around 4,000rpm)
Good BFG T/A rubber (235/60/15's @ 50%+ tread)
Newer OEM cat and stock mufflers
New front shocks
I got it running better by re-timing the motor (was a good 30* off), and setting the idle mixture as good as I could get it. (with a vacuum gauge)
All gauges work but the clock
New air filter, new fuel filter w/ pressure gauge, new fuel pump, new Taylor plug wires, fresh oil change, and new throttle/TV cable brackets
Both side windows work with the switches
Includes a box full of parts including the glove box, front air dam, both door panels/arm rests, console sides, 4 new head lights, the head light bucket covers, random screws
The badish-
Brake pedal is spongy (might need a master cylinder but they work as is)
Interior needs a full restore (comes with a new carpet kit/ steering wheel cover, and couple other little things) it's in rough shape as is though
Head lights don't work (won't turn on- can't figure out why- all other lights work though)- they do go up and down but one of the vacuum solenoids leak so they're not hooked to vacuum but the buckets are free for the lights to go up and down and the vacuum system does function minus the leaks in the system
A/C is not complete(1 line was cut and missing pump/brackets)
Needs an alignment
The passenger door handle needs adjusted as it won't open with out messing with the latch
Needs a patch in the drivers side floor (steel)
1 crack found in the main body (driver rear 1/4 behind wheel) front and rear bumpers have cracks but present ok
Looks like the car was Red at one point and resprayed poorly Black (can see Red under the Black in the vents behind the front wheels)
needs U joints/unit bearings soon
Needs a interior screw kit and seat bolts as there are no screws/bolts
The rad core support is rotted out in the lower portions but new one's are available and everything is still being held up ok currently
We have sent the title into the state and do not have it back yet but yes there is a clear MN title- Therefore we will be selling the car with a contract stating the title once received (if not by the end of the auction/ time of pick up) it will be signed and sent certified signature required mail to the new owner.. (both parties will sign and date and get a copy or said contract to be legal) please bid with confidence!
The car honestly needs a full frame off resto the pics make it look nicer than it is - or drive it after putting a little into it as a beater. Doesn't shake at speed, and has a solid frame- just trying to get what I bought it for..
Bring a trailer as it is not drive-able for more than a few miles.. (due to needing U joints/ and the cruising RPM of the motor)
sorry for the novel just want you to know what you're looking at before you make the 2.5+ hour trek to look at it..
