IF the NHRA ever goes back to 1320ft for the nitro cars it might be with a new spec engine. It will be a smaller cubic inch, (413 cubic inch possibly) it will have a much smaller fuel pump, smaller blower and one less magneto. T/F dragsters will run in the high 4's at 300......and that will be a struggle!

Don't believe me? Tim Wilkerson has already been testing this combination for the NHRA on his Funny Car this summer. (during closed test sessions)

If you want to wait for the 1320 to return before witnessing your first Pro drag race, that's great! However, the big engines just might be a thing of the past by then!

The environment isn't the safest, but slowing them down to lessen the risk takes the fun out of it, at least for a spectator. I, along with most people, can't comment from the driver's perspective.

Allways. Thats where the real fans go! Ask, CleanLXfox, MNstang, and Rob its just a blast there. They'd go, but BIR keeps raising the price to go there. Pretty soon it won't even be worth goin. ITs bad enough the prices are high now, bad enough funny car can't race full Quarter mile, bad enough gas prices are high. Still though, gotta go up there, thats the only decent race BIR gets.

Brainerd International Raceway and the Sports Car Club of America's Land O' Lakes Region regrettably announce that the Jack Pine Sprints have been canceled. The road race was scheduled for Aug. 7-9.

You guys need to become friends with a sportsman racer who is entered in the event. Contestant tickets are only $85 bucks for the full week, no charge for camping, and no charge for your scooter/atv/motorized couch/topless car/garden tractor/ go cart/mini bike/etc.

Racers don't actually get the tickets until Wednesday when they check in at the NHRA trailer. Each contestant can buy as many 85 dollar tickets as they want, whenever they want..... but once they are eliminated from competition they can no longer buy tickets for that event.
