Are they still pretty lax about cages / chutes? Also if you ran on a fun night / test n tune was it crowded or not so much? Just seeing if its still the way it used to be.
Those who've raced at CFR recently...

Went this spring Ran 11.0s in time trials with no guff. Just don't drive around with under 11.5 on your window you should be ok... Just be sure you can stop I was only running 124 and had to really jump on the brakes to get stopped.
As for crowded wasn't to bad I guess, got two time trials and then elims.Last edited by speedo; 05-30-2007, 10:00 PM.

I guess MY question is this: Does YOUR car require a cage? Does YOUR car require a chute?
Why do so many people try to skirt around safety issues?
If it needs it/requires it/supposed to have it, wouldn't YOU feel safer having the said requirements on your vehicle?
I mean, if I'm in the lane next to you, and something happens to YOU because of NOT having the proper safety equipment....................well, that's just stupid. You can sleep in your race car, but you can't race your house!

I guess most of us don't drive the thing on a trailer and park it until the next time we race. Speaking for myslef, I have airbags, front, rear impact honey combs, car was made to crumple around the driver in a accident more saftey items then in most older cars.
I go in knowing something could happen, but I choose to race anyway. Everyone has a choice.
Out of respect your right about needing saftey gear but it could happen when I drive it 80 miles round trip on the way to work too.Last edited by speedo; 05-31-2007, 10:02 AM.

What do you think will happen when you have a problem at the track and you
don't have the proper equipment for the ET and speed you are going?
1. the track will be shut down.
if the track is not shut down their insurance rates will sky rocket and fees for
racing will go up or the track will shut down.
I have seen parts break on all kinds of racecars.
Your sig says that you run 10.96 @123 with a stock bottom end, you are
exactly the guy I'm talking about.
I broke a crankshaft at half track once and was lucky to keep the car
off the guardrail will you be? or will you slide out of control into the
car in the other lane?
No one thinks it will happen to them until it does, that is why they regulate
what safety equipment is needed at what speed.
