Hmm, I raised a buddy's at MCSO last fall and guess what? His ET changed. It was an Outlaw car too. These tires have changed considerably since the 1990's-2000's. Low air pressure isn't needed, unless your tires are from those years. My guess is the suspension is off if you lose 60ft on the increase.

We run 10-12 in Billy's depending on the day. 28 X 14.5 X 15 ET STREET NON DR.
Scott I think what they are talking about is how you are wrinkling the actual tread or contact patch of the tire. That isnt good.Last edited by LES; 02-17-2012, 10:29 AM.It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.

Ok I understand that. But I have a 17.5 x 32 which is a big tire most of you have a smaller tire that does not require low tire pressure. But on my car the way it is set up I get low 1.4 60 foots with the tire pressure at no more than 61/2 pounds. But for some reason when I bump it up to 7-8 pounds it gets mid 1.4's. I am not saying I won't try tire pressure this year and do some suspension adjustments it might make a difference.IF IT AINT BROKE I'LL BREAK IT!! (MONTBOO)

I have heard that you want to put down as much of a foot print on a big tire to get the best traction. Plus there is an extra 285 lbs on the driver side so the tire might wrinkle more. You have other issues going on then. Your tire pressure shouldn't need to be quite that low. Big tires do take less pressure, but they shouldn't need to be that low. You're just beating up the side walls and shortening the life of the tires. It's also costing you e.t. I believe your bigger problem has to do with shock settings, spring rates, or maybe 4-link adjustments. You should still be doing better 60 foots than 1.4X.Originally posted by iceman496 View PostOk I understand that. He's Probbably runing to big of a tire, his Tire height is changing with more air in the tire changing gearing slightly which is effecting his 60ft's. Try a slightly shorter tire with more air pressure & I bet his 60ft & ET improves.Originally posted by 5-door View PostYou have other issues going on then. Hey Scott, maybe the 10th you give up in the 60ft may turn into a 2/10th gain at the other end with more air. With the air pressure that low, it would seem to me that you have to "push" the tire more than you're riding on it. Not sure if that makes any since but i think of it as trying to ride a bike with a low/flat back tire.
