Where to get plating/chrome done?

Where do guys doing restorations get things rechromed? I called a few shops and they only want to do fresh clean parts? Where do guys take parts off old cars to have them rechromed? How do I prep the parts if no one will do the whole job? I am rebuilding an old Rupp mini-bike I had since I was a kid. I think originally the handlebars, rims and other parts were simply clear zinc coated. I would be ok with that, if I can't find anyone to chrome them.

Any suggestions? I would prefer something on the south side of town.
