ticking after puddle

i went thru a puddle today and the water was pretty deep it had troublwe starting and when it did start i started getting a knocking sound but cant tell if its upper or lower, also my air filter and silencer had water inside so im sure the motor got water into the cylenders. i dont know if it will help at this point but i took off the air silencer and hose to the throttle bodt and open the trottle plate overnight

1)is there any sensor or anytyhing besides a valve, or rod that would cause a knock?

2) if it is a valve how much would it run to do a side?

3) is there some way i can find out for certain if its a rod knock or valve noise?

drain the oil. now.
do it before driving anymore than you have.

if you had water through the intake, its already in the motor.

you may have already spun a bearing.

once the motor hydrolocked you should have pulled the plugs and hand cranked it until all the water came out. Would have fired fine then.

this cost me a motor. it happened, in the worst way. it spun bearings before i could shut it down. engines dont like water. no bueno buddy

if your running a 4.6 you probably bent a rod. my guess would be #4 also your intake is still probably full of water. remove the throtle body elbow and make sure you do not have a gallon of water at the bottom just waiting for you to hit the gas hard and suck more water into the motor.

If its a 5.0 I would swap for another, cheap and easy. If its a 4.6 put a Mark VIII teksid motor in, 300 HP turn key.

Or sell it if you don't want to mess around.
