    Help: Ignition Mount Location

I have been trying to relocate my ignition location and I’m at a loss. So I was wondering if this looks like a suitable location or not. I am also wondering if passing Tech at the strip; would this would work? I can not find a well suited place under the hood. I was thinking about making a mounting bracket near the factory air box would be a good idea. But, then if the blower blew a belt I am afraid it would slap the snot out of my ignition box. The only other place I could find would be under the cowl. I was hoping to someday mount the nitrous solenoids there so it would make that spot quite clustered.

The fitment & room is fine for my driving style, so the main question is. Should I mount it here, or search for a better location? Also has anybody heard of these arcing or blowing up? Can I pass Tech?

    Your thoughts?

I've seen people put it on the passenger side like that before but more on transmission tunnel. As for passing tech, I have no idea.

My 6A was mounted under the drivers seat. Don't know why It wouldn't pass tech. How hot does a 7a get. I would be worried that I would always be hitting it where you have it now.

Yeah, I dunno. I just can't find a good place for it. Wish it were smaller so it would fit under the seat. I guess I'll just drill some new holes in the firewall and mount it on the passenger side. I just never have good luck with passengers feet kicking into things! Like I'll never do kick panel speakers again, LoL!

I was thinking about the same thing, but on the passenger side. Couldn't you mount it over there with some sort of a cover?

I wouldnt put somthing that uses cooling fins and gets hot under my shorts-laden legs. That and the discharge noise sucks and will get really old right there.

                I disagree.

I always mount the ignition box under the passenger seat.

Although the box you have is quite hefty. Why not mount it in one of the fender approns?

With the Anderson Power Pipe I have room on the fender apron, but because I am using such a poorly designed blower belt setup I throw them quite frequently. Before the Anderson PP I just quickly fabbed up a K&N air filter and blew a belt once. The belt took out everything on the apron. So that is why I am gun shy on mounting it there. I also use to mount the 6a’s under the seat, however this 7a will not fit

But the job’s done already. I mounted it in front of the passenger seat. Just took out the Uni-bit and started drilling holes.
