    Nitrous on high compression

Is it safe to run 125-150 shot on a 4cyl with 10.5:1 comp?

What type of components should I look for to safely run it on the motor.
Any brand or kits to stay away from?

A 4 cylinder? Is it built for nitrous? You will have a hard time holding that on a single stage unless the engine is built for it. Generally you don't have to really worry about static compression for a street engine and nitrous, the more SCR the better.

you need to know what kind of rings and how much gap.

I would imagine that load on a 4 popper would be too much. when the ring gap is too small the ring expands from all the added nawz and when the gap goes away the top of your piston comes off.

Forged pistons & rodo at least IMO

Make sure the rings are gapped for the shot your running and remember an extra .002 gap has never blown up an engine but -.001 can fucked up your whole day.
        Don't ask, it's a midlife crises thing.

I know I can run 75 shot on stock tune just fine from what I've read. And 100 shot with a tune.
The motor has forged pistons and I think crank or rods (one of them)
I'll be using a WET set up.
Nbody really says anything about comp ratio, ring gap or anything like that. Just say to run 2 steps colder plug.

Piston and ring manufactures and engine builders all say a lot about clearances with nitrous. If your adding nitrous to the motor the nitrous is only part of the equation, if you don't consider the other part (the motor) your rolling dice Do you feel lucky?

Also 10.5-1 is not high compression, its a pump gas motor. And while your reading up shit in your magazines, you should have learned that nitrous love compression, but that will be in next months issue. :idiot:

What engine is this? I don't think there are many factory half motors that can hold a 150 hit.

10.5:1 is high for a FI so I figured it may be high for Nitrous.

                      SVT focus
Block and crank can handle 600hp and has forged rods.

Why does 150 shot seem high on a 4 cyl and a V8 can do a 300+ shot?

Your knowledge is dangerous! 10.5 is high for a FI (Forced Induction) because you are forcing air into the chamber therefor raising the compression.
