Ok how about another run at this

Ok, As some of you know I was dicked out of getting a supercharger by having the deal fall through well I am finally getting my cash back and I say f-it I am getting a charger even if it does cost me a bit more. Just gotta work a few more hours right... totally worth it. Now heres my question which to go with: ATI Procharger p-sc1 or the Paxton Novi-1000. I was totally set on the procharger cause the intercooler of course, but after some research I have heard a lot of horror stories about em leaking(oil). What yall think.

You can get an air to air for the novi 1000 and I don't like the idea of the air to water aftercooler from vortech.

So nobody else has an opinion on which is better????

I'd find a blower wheel/combination that you like, AND THEN worry about intercooling it. Intercooling is quite possibly the easiest forced induction mod short of a boost valve for a turbo.

Do some research, then buy. If you want to get a nicer kit and save some cash on the intercooler then you have a number of viable junkyard options:
        * Powerstroke Intercooler. mmmm.... deisels like big intercoolers.
        * Mitsu NPR intercooler. These fit really nice into mustangs.
        * Maybe a custom setup? A friend of mine, Mike Svor... I can never spell the rest of it, has an intercooler made from 3 individual volvo intercoolers stuffed into the nose of his '86 Notchback. It's pretty sweeeet.
        * If you're a big baller could could even get a porsche 944T intercooler or 911 intrecooler. They have great cores if anything.

I'd really suggest going with the NPR intercooler if you can find one. They fit well, are of very solid construction, AND lemme-tell-you-whhhhat, you will never need another intercooler in your mustang ever again.

          Sturte,

Both the Novi1000, Novi2000, and the Procharger are very good head units (the blower itself). However the biggest differance is is the quality of the kit. If you were to see a Novi1000/2000 kit side byside to an ATI kit, you could clearly see the increased size of brackets, ducting, ect...

Paxtons front mount intercooler works with both the Novi1000 and 2000, and is larger than the ATI. Both ATI and Paxton use sperco cores for their coolers.

For mild boost #s you wont need an intercooler. There is potencial for more mid range torque, as you can add alot of ignition timing with the cooler charge, but peak power will remain very close.

As for the oil resevoir vrs oil suplied depate, that will go on for ever. I will say this...If the ATI springs a leak, and you dont know it the blower is going shell, and probably send all that metal into your intake.. If your oil suplied such as the Novi, with pressurized oil. If you blower springs a leak your going to know it, as your whole car will be covered in it......Sure youll have some cleaning to do, but at least then you save your blower and motor.

As far as power #s go, the ATI, Novi1k, and Novi2k are all going to be very close. Ron (ZINK00GT) and I have very similar mods, and are making almost identicle power numbers. The only differance is he has had his car tuned on a dyno. Both cars run out pretty much the same too.

I leaned towards the Novi2000, because it can make the same boost with a saller diameter pully. And produces lest heat at similar boost levels than the P-1SC blower from ATI.

Either choice you will be pretty happy with it..

Im going to recomend you go Paxton still. And if you do, be sure to let me know. I am in pretty good with Paxton, and may be able to hook you up with a pretty good deal.

Also if you want to see a Novi installed, I have pics. And all though I have some driveline issues right now, If you want to see how well a Novi blown GT runs out, my car is still ok enough to give you are ride, or let you take it for a spin.
I send myself PM's so I roll with a full inbox! Sweet35th style!

I was leaning in the direction of paxton too. What kinda deal can ya get for me the best I have found so far has been $3230 for the polished kit at superchargers4less.com. You can pm me if ya don't want to brodcast the price.
