I am thinking about another 351 swap into a 84 GT, has anyone ever done the swap and have the carb clear the factory hood. I am going carbed and I dont want to cut up the hood or run a cowl hood if I dont have to.

Yes with a RPM Air Gap it will clear if you use the 83 scoop that I just got from you. It is very tight but it fit with a drop base filter.

I think maximum motor sports or upr makes a k member for a 351 to fit under stock hoods

im running a performer rpm and have the drop base, works well under the scoop.

pa racing might have a dropped k-member, also you can get 3/4" drop mounts from holcomb.

I really don't want to get a k member but I will have to look into the drop mounts. I don't have the cash to get my short block rebuilt so I was going to use a 351 I have and the swap headers and call it a day but I guess not right now.

There are k member spacers that you can buy or even make that will let it clear...
