    thundercoug started! has issues?

starts, revs hard to 1500rpms makes loud wooshing sound like the iac is opening wide open then dies. if I hit the throttle right as the woosh sound begins it will stay running, but it has zero throttle response, and sounds like crap, will not idle. so far I have tryed retarding the timing a little, alot. and I played with the fuel pressure a little. right now fuel pressure is set to 35 psi. and im not sure where the timing is I cant get it to run long enough to get a reading, I advanced it till it was hard cranking then backed it down till it cranked good. then proceeded in 1-2 degree increments trying to find a spot to keep it running.

im too tired to play with it tonight just looking for some extra intel to sleep on then I will try it after work tomorrow.

honestly the thought of installing a carb passed through my mind, I might still do it, just for the hood clearance... but then I have to go back through it and redo my fuel system and get a different distributor, and other components.

dont put a carb on it.. i have nothing going on tomorrow later i can stop out and help with it

i know when i first started my 87 it didnt like running at 10 BTDC it really liked TDC nor did it idle below 1500 rpms< anything under and it would die

do you have an adjustable TPS? if so what is it reading?

i wouldnt worry about reving it right now just let it idle and time it

speaking of idle what is it set at?

i dialed all that stuff in and it would idle at about 1100 before i sold it(with original BAD IAC and original stock FPR)

yes it is, but now that you say that I think I remember one of the pins being goofy I will have to recheck that maybe it bent over when I plugged it in.

Is it a stock maf? What injectors do you have in it?

do you have an adjustable TPS? if so what is it reading? this is VERY important for it to idle... it tells the ECU where the throttle is- if its not adjusted or to far out of wack it wont think its open so it will die

maybe try bumping the FP up to 40psi? how big are your injectors?

                            is your IAC new, used?

                            is it mass air?
