So the 75e is tougher? correct? but id assume the 70w is cheaper and easier to rebuild? both same smoothness?
4r70w vs 4r75e???

Neither your yota or your hyundai have enough torque to break either, so why does it matter?
W is wide ratio, E is electronic controls. 70 vs 75 is the torque rating (x10) of the input shaft. They do have the same gear ratios however, the W was to differentiate its ratios from the 4R55E and 4R44E. I don't believe the W has electronic controls though. There are 4R70E and 4R75W models out there too...

The W is only meant to describe wide ratio. It has nothing in common with the A4LD series of transmissions, or to tell them apart.
The 4R75W has a different stator support, improved converter, the planetary gearset has a newly designed manufacturing process, sun shell and forward sun gear is different, the pump body has a new piston design, planetary ring gear has a OSS lugs, among other minor details.
