efi turbo and manifold

I'm putting a 5.8efi in with a turbo. What type of efi works best for the V8. MAF or MAP?
How much boost can the stock MAF take?
I know the 5.0 had more options for MAF cars. Can I use a 5.0 EEC and harness on the 5.8?
Also does the 5.0 upper intake bolt onto the 5.8 lower or whats the best combo to use.

I know the 5.0 had more options for MAF cars. Can I use a 5.0 EEC and harness on the 5.8? The ECU has no idea what size engine it's on. You will need a custom tune.


Also does the 5.0 upper intake bolt onto the 5.8 lower or whats the best combo to use. The best combo is a Super Victor EFI unit. Some 5.8s are more like a TFS lower intake, so will a 5.0 fit depends on which lower intake you have

he will most likely just run his stock ecu anyways regardless of what people tell him but it wont matter as the motor will eat itself when the pistons go into the valves

Hes going from carb'd to EFI.

I know as we talked about last Saturday I was once young and stupid. I am just passing on my best advice as others did for me years ago. I'm a little more gentle than some of my "advisers" were.

Anyway, we are forgetting that he is using a stock (cast piston) short block so this thing is just a mater of time with any boost add in some timing problems and BOOM!!!

I thought efi blocks had forged pistons tell around 95 when they went to hypereutectic. Or was that just the 5.0 mustangs?

5.0's out of Mustangs had TRW forged pistons until late 1992, and the 5.0 Thunderbirds and Cougars had them from 1991-late 1992.

I dont have 5-8K laying around for a built motor, and car isnt set up for efi. Figured best way is to get stock efi in car, fab and mount everything. get the bugs worked out.
Throw some boost on it while I get another motor in the works.
