SBF is the most popular swap as far as I know. I believe you can "flip" the stock crossmember and install a 302 with a dual sump pan (fox pan?) and "it will fit right in". I'm pissing around with the rotary in an '85 now.

I have a 5.0L set of brackets and mounts, that allows you to install a 5.0L ford mustang engine into your 1st generation Mazda RX7. It comes with the motor mount brackets which bolt to factory crossmember, the motor mounts that are needed, and the transmission crossmember. The Ford trans is also used in place of the mazda one. call Ben at 651 206 1256 with any questions. 125 obo
